I spent the majority of my weekend working on one of my Halloween costume accessories. What can I say? I'm coo-coo for Halloween-Puffs!This year, I'm going to be Coraline, and really wanted to create my own "Little Me" like the Other Mother's spy doll in the movie. It's just a creepier costume with it! Plus, I have been having a lot of fun knitting toys lately.

I realized I had a pretty basic doll pattern in my collection already--part of Ysolda Teague's Whimsical Little Knits (a must-have for knitting enthusiasts!). The pattern is called "Poppy," and I pretty much followed the doll form exactly, except for the color changes, yarn weight, and needle size. I used worsted weight yarns on size US5 needles, using both dpn and magic loop methods.
Me being the internet sleuth that I am, I was checking out other Poppy projects on Ravelry, and came across another Coraline doll that used the same pattern--with notes on how to construct the little jacket! (Thanks, RubyCanyon!) I made some tiny adjustments to the pattern to compensate for the larger doll size (and I like m1 instead of kfb; oooh! knit lingo!).
All in all, I am super excited about how my Little Me turned out. Just call me your regular ol' Other Mother. Can't wait for Halloween! Yeah!
She is cute! I love her shoes. And much more charming than the spy doll. But still a little scary.
